Cingular Pocket PC 8525 Pocket PC 8525 Technology
The Pocket PC 8525's user friendly design features a sliding QWERTY keyboard that gives you plenty of room to type. The vibrant 320 x 240 pixel LCD display operates in both portrait and landscape mode and rotates automatically when the keyboard is opened or closed.

The Pocket PC 8525's user interface also includes a centrally located 5-way navigation pad and dedicated 'Send' and 'End' keys allow you to easily navigate with one hand. The Pocket PC 8525 supports supports Bluetooth, WiFi, IrDA, S/MIME and Mini-USB, and includes an expansion slot compatible with SD, SDIO, and Multimedia memory cards. This device ships with 128 MB of memory.

The 8525 is North America's first 3G Pocket PC. 3G enhances your wireless experience by making your phone more like your PC, bringing you access to video, graphics, pictures, downloads, email and more, all at speeds faster than ever before. 3G also offers simultaneous access to voice, data, and email services. 3G is currently available in major metropolitan areas and is rapidly expanding. You'll know you're in a 3G coverage area when the 3G network indicator appears beside the signal bars on your phone. The Pocket PC 8525 is also compatible with the EDGE network and is designed to switch seamlessly when 3G is unavailable, giving you exceptional nationwide coverage wherever you go. EDGE delivers speeds nearly twice as fast as any other national data network, offering average download speeds of 70 - 135 kilobits per second (Kbps) and burst speeds up to 200 Kbps.

8525 Phone Phone Features
The Pocket PC 8525 is North America's first 3G Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA and Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE world phone with international voice and data roaming capabilities. The Pocket PC 8525 features a speakerphone for convenient, hands-free conversation, Bluetooth support for use with wireless headsets, and voice driven menus that allow you to use voice commands to make phone calls.

Picture caller ID is yet another feature of the Pocket PC 8525, along with Polyphonic and MP3 ring tones. Use these features to customize your rings for individual callers, or attach a picture to a phone book number in your address book to create customized caller alerts. The Pocket PC 8525 also features push-to-talk capabilities (available early 2007).

Microsoft® Windows Mobile 5™
The Pocket PC 8525 features Microsoft Windows® Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC with Messaging & Security Pack. This version of Windows Mobile also offers Direct Push Technology for email, calendar, contacts & tasks. The wide range of applications for the Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC feature a familiar interface and consistent functionality, so they’re easy to learn and use right away. Pocket versions of popular Microsoft applications let you easily update and share the same data. New Microsoft software for Windows Mobile™-based devices includes the PowerPoint® Mobile™ and Excel® Mobile™ with chart support for an improved email attachment viewing experience. The Pocket PC 8525 also includes versions of familiar applications such as Microsoft Outlook®, Pocket Internet Explorer 4.0, Windows Media™ Player 10, and Microsoft Word.

Wireless Email
The Pocket PC 8525 allows you to send and receive email directly from the device. Send and receive email in real time, as well as view photos, video, HTML and native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments. Outlook Mobile is included, and push e-mail capability is available through several solutions, including Cingular Xpress Mail, Good Mobile Messaging, and Microsoft Direct Push. The Pocket PC 8525 also can access personal e-mail accounts (POP3 and IMAP4).

You can also synchronize your device with your desktop. The Sync application supports popular business email solutions as well as most familiar ISPs like Yahoo! and EarthLink. The Cingular 8525 also supports instant, text, and multimedia messaging.

The browser supports multiple Internet standards, such as HTML, cHTML and WAP, and provides multiple web viewing options. Optimized viewing minimizes horizontal scrolling and makes content fit the small screen, while wide screen view provides the familiar interface of a desktop web browser. An online search feature and quick links to popular content such as news, sports, movies, stock quotes and weather allow you to locate information quickly and easily.

Pocket PC 8525 Multimedia Multi Media Capabilities
Optimized for multimedia, the Pocket PC 8525 lets you capture still pictures and video, store and play MP3 files, and even watch streaming video at broadband speeds over Cingular's 3G network.

The Pocket PC 8525 has an upgraded integrated 1280 x 1040 (2.0 MegaPixel) digital camera with 2x zoom and automatic light balancing. Just point and click! You can transfer your pictures to your computer, or send them straight to a friend via email or MMS. The built-in camcorder lets you record videos, play them on the LCD screen and easily save them right on the device.

The Pocket PC 8525 lets you play MP3s and RealAudio files directly from its built in speaker. (You can also attach stereo headphones to the device.) You can organize your songs by creating and editing play lists right on your smartphone and view a full display of current tracks playing using Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. The Pocket PC 8525's MP3 player also allows you to transfer your personal music collection to an expansion card (sold separately) to play your handheld.
