Nokia E62 Technology
The stylish Nokia E62 features a sleek metal casing and slim design.
Built with user friendliness in mind, the E62 offers a full QWERTY keyboard
for easy typing, a brilliant 320 x 240 pixel color display, adjustable
brightness and contrast, and an ambient light sensor for keypad display
lighting control.
The E62's user interface also includes
a centrally located 5-way navigation pad and dedicated 'Send' and 'End'
keys allow you to easily navigate with one hand. The E62 supports supports
Bluetooth, IrDA, S/MIME and Mini-USB, and includes an expansion slot
compatible with SD, SDIO, and Multimedia memory cards. This device ships
with 80 MB of memory. |

EDGE
High Speed Data Network
The E62 runs on Cingular's high speed EDGE network. EDGE delivers speeds
nearly twice as fast as any other national data network, offering average
download speeds of 70 - 135 kilobits per second (Kbps) and burst speeds
up to 200 Kbps. The EDGE network performs at more than three times the
speed of GPRS and nearly twice the speed of CDMA 1xRTT. |
Phone Features
The E62 is a Quad-Band GSM/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) world phone with
international voice and data roaming capabilities. The Pocket PC 8125
features a speakerphone for convenient, hands-free conversation, Bluetooth
support for use with wireless headsets, and voice driven menus that allow
you to use voice commands to make phone calls.
Picture caller ID is yet another feature
of the E62, along with Polyphonic and MP3 ring tones. Use these features
to customize your rings for individual callers, or attach a picture to
a phone book number in your address book to create customized caller alerts.
Call waiting, call hold, call divert, call timer, and conference calling
are also supported by the E62.

Symbian OS™
The E62 is built on the Symbian 9.1 with Nokia's S60 3rd Edition software
- one of the world's leading smartphone platforms. Support for a large
color screen, easy-to-use interface and extensive suite of applications
make this software platform ideally suited to support mobile services
such as email, browsing and streaming. Attachments viewers and editors
support the most common features of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
(Microsoft Office 97, 2000, XP and 2003). The Symbian OS also provides
compatibility with Zip Manager and Adobe Reader.

Email and Messaging
The E62 allows you to send and receive email directly from the device.
Send and receive email in real time, as well as view photos, video, HTML
and native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments Built-In Email
support includes personal and business email accounts such as POP, IMAP
and SMTP. The E62 also supports third party email clients: Good Mobile
Messaging, BlackBerry Connect, Intellisync Wireless Email, Mail for Exchange
(Microsoft ActiveSync) and Xpress Mail.
The E62's Sync application supports popular
business email solutions, including PIM & Outlook synchronization
and most familiar ISPs like Yahoo! and EarthLink. Instant messaging fans
will appreciate the built-in AIM, MSN and Yahoo messaging clients. Multimedia
Messaging Service (MMS, ver. 1.2) for text, voice clips, video clips and
still images is also supported by the E62. |
Pocket
IE Browser
With the E62 and Cingular’s EDGE data network, you can access the
internet at lightning fast speeds using your HTML Nokia Browser browser.
Its vibrant display and powerful processor provides a rich wireless web
viewing experience.
The E62's HTML browser has been called
the 'gold standard' of mobile web browsers. It renders big, complex pages
quickly and easily. Innovative features such as mini maps which show you
your position relative to the rest of the page and thumbnails of pages
in the browser history make browsing even easier.
The E62 also includes a standard WAP 2.0
browser optimized for viewing mobile web content. |
Multi
Media Capabilities
Optimized for multimedia, the E62 lets you play MP3s files directly from
its built in speaker. (You can also attach stereo headphones to the device.)
You can organize your songs by creating and editing play lists right on
your smartphone and view a full display of current tracks playing. The
application offers a number of options, such as repeat and random play.
An equalizer function allows the user to select from a number of presets,
edit a preset, or create a brand new preset for tuning the audio response
of the music player. The E62's MP3 player also allows you to transfer
your personal music collection to an expansion card (sold separately)
to play your handheld. Other multimedia type apps include the RealPlayer
and FlashPlayer applications, as well as a voice memo recorder.

The E62 features 80 MB of memory, more than sufficient for storing emails,
documents, pictures, ring tones, music, or downloading applications. And,
with Integrated MiniSD hot swap slot, you can add a card up to 2GB or
extra memory. Save pictures, video and Word documents directly to your
device or use the portable memory card to store files while transporting
from one computer to the next.
