BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 for Novell Groupwise for the Novell GroupWise solution brings the freedom of wireless access to your workforce. The BES server seamlessly integrates with your GroupWise server to provide a complete end-to-end solution for wireless email and groupware applications.

Simplicity.
The BlackBerry solution's elegant approach to wireless email lets your users keep their existing email accounts and addresses. For example, [email protected] is still [email protected], whether he reads his email from his device or from his desktop computer. Unlike other wireless solutions that require users to 'log in' to check their email, BlackBerry is "Always On, Always Connected." If you send an email to [email protected], the email is automatically sent to his BlackBerry enabled handheld device. No fuss, no delay. It just works.

The BlackBerry solution also allows you to synchronize your address book, calendar, tasks, email and more.

Security.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 for Novell Groupwise supports End-to-End encryption. All communications between the wireless handheld and the BlackBerry server are encrypted using Triple DES (3DES). Because the BlackBerry server is installed behind your enterprise firewall, your information is never sent in plain text. BlackBerry has achieved FIPS-140-2 certification, making it deployable in environments where security is a priority.

The BlackBerry Solution can also be extended with Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (SMIME) support for additional security. This enhancement allows true sender-to-receiver verification, and allows users to digitally sign messages.

In addition to the built in security features, the BlackBerry solution works well with solutions from 3rd party developers for enhanced security.

Manageability.
Tight integration with the GroupWise Server means you can take advantage of your existing infrastructure. BlackBerry runs as a Windows Service. This lets you manage all of your user's settings through a familiar interface.

Extensibility.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 for Novell Groupwise features BlackBerry's Mobile Data Service (MDS), the easiest way to access enterprise data on your BlackBerry wireless Handheld. Using MDS you can wirelessly enable intranet applications quickly and easily. MDS allows your BlackBerry wireless handheld to access HTML, WML or XML data, making it easy to access your CRM, ERP or proprietary applications wirelessly. MDS gives you the flexibility to access your information through the BlackBerry Browser, or via Java.
